Abstract
In order to investigate reproductive biological characteristics of Actinidia arguta, microsporogenesis and male gametophyte development of Actinidiaarguta were studied by the methods of paraffin section. The results showed that each flower had several stamens, each anther had four pollen sacs, and mature pollen grains belonged to 2-celled type with 3 apertures; pollen sac wall consisted of 4 layers, i.e. epidermis, endothelium, middle layer and tapetum; the tapetum belonged to the type of secretory which was mononuclear in the early stage and binuclear to polynuclear in the later; the cytokinesis of the microspore mother cells in meiosis was the simultaneous type; tetrads were mostly tetrahedral. Mature pollen development of Actinidia arguta was normal and didn't show any abortion.
