Abstract
With the development of network communications and multimedia technologies, the demand for the multimedia-teaching content, including video/audio information, grows quickly. The remote learning based on streaming media technology is a new approach to education. In combination of the popular P2P technology and the streaming media technology, this paper describes how to build up a remote network teaching system based on P2P streaming media technology. With the advantages of P2P networks, streaming media transmission system is modified, thus reducing the load of streaming media services on the backbone network and avoiding the network congestion.
