The resource and development of Xing are discussed by dividing into three historical stages in this paper.The age of the Books of Songs is the resource of Xing,it is Qi in essence,from which the association is arisen.Warring States,Qin and Han Dynasties are the interims,and people know Xing and Bi all have Comparison meaning,and is one but not two expression means.After Wei,Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties,Xing is Gan in essence,in which various sceneries and materials form the artistic conception for expressing the emotion and saying the ambition.Whichever age it is in,the application of Xing is for educing the internal emotions.
