Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of CD40 molecule on lung cancer and its clinical significance.Methods The expression of CD40 in 51 cases of lung cancer tissues,which were obtained from surgical resection,was analyzed by immunohistochemistry.10 fresh lung cancer cells and 4 lung cancer cell lines were also examined by direct immunofluorescence staining and flow cytometry.The correlations of CD40 molecule expression with clinical stage,histological types,pathologic grades and metastasis of lung cancer were also analyzed by using χ 2 test.Results (1)The expression rate of CD40 in lung cancer tissue was 76.5%,strong positive expression rate was 54.9%.(2)The expression rates of CD40 in fresh lung cancer cells cell lines were (1.6%~71.0%) and (2.1%~88.2%),respectively.(3)The expression of CD40 was significantly correlated with clinical stage and metastasis of lung cancer.Conclusion CD40 molecule might play an important role in the carcinogenesis of lung cancer and might be a valuable marker in predicting the prognosis of the lung cancer.
