Cultural Explanation and Cognitive Analysis of Politeness Principle

Politeness is the product of language and culture. It has different manners due to different social culture. The most influential politeness frameworks are PP proposed by Leech and PS by Levinson,they made systematic study about the connotation and denotation of Politeness. This paper illustrates PP and PS from cultural angle,at the same time,analyses the inner meaning of its cognitive models,then it helps people understand the utterance meaning of pragmatic principles.
