Abstract
Using computer model, ISAREG, sufficient and deficit irrigation scheduling of four main crops were simulated based upon the daily meteorological data, soil data and irrigation water for Hetao Irrigation District in north China. The results showed that the irrigation times and irrigation water can be reduced (45 mm less on average) with only slightly yield decrease. Thus, the deficit irrigation was recommended as an effective way to save water in this District.
