Abstract

The government of the Qing Dynasty dispatched troops extensively when the Anglo-French allied forces invaded Beijing in 1860,Xiang Army was also involved in it.Zeng Guofan applied to the government that he or Hu Linyi should lead the reinforcements instead of BaoChao who was the assigner.During this period,Xiang Army had not carried military aid out because of the changing situation,Zeng Guofan Bloc's consultation on military aid is worthy of research,for it shows Zeng Guofan Bloc's attitude and policy.
