Abstract
Objective To survey the species, composition and seasonal fluctuation of Rattus flavipetus and indoor free flea and provide evidences for policy-making in Hepu county of Guangxi. Methods The data concerning monitoring of plague in Hepu County in 1987~2005 were analyzed and assessed. Results There were 5 species of indoor free flea in Hepu County and Pulex irritans was dominant, accounted for 93.40%. The annual average flea index was 0.0536 and the peak durations of flea index were from January to April and from November to December. Conclusion The monitoring of indoor free flea is one of important work of plague control in Hepu County.
