The Grammaticalization and Especial Usage of Modern Chinese Degree Adverb "shifen"(十分)

Abstract

shifen(十分) had been condensed into a adverb word from a phrase and got the abstracted meaning of superlative degrees in the Song Dynasty at latest. Whereas the position of it in the grammatical pattern wasn't fixed, the grammaticalization had been completed until the end of the Qing Dynasty. And there were some especial usage of this word in the long process.
