Abstract

The ten mineral contents of Ca,Cd,Cr,Cu,Fe,K,Mg,Mn,Na and Zn in Amaranthus mangostanus L.were determined by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES).The relative standard deviations for all these elements in this method were between 0.12% and 5.72%.The measuring method was proved to be simple, rapid, reliable, and highly sensitive. In addition, the determination of these mineral elements can be carried out at the same time, which can meet the requests of actual sample analysis. The experimental results show that Amaranthus mangostanus L.contains plentiful mineral elements, especially Ca,K,Mg,which imply that the nutritive value is high.
