Abstract
The dietary concept in ancient Chinese society was mainly reflected in the philosophic thought of Confucian and the other scholars. Ancient Chinese society paid attention to the taste and cookery, attempted to promote the artistic level of food, emphasized the balanced diet, and advanced the temperance in eating and drinking, all of which reflected the high development of the material civilization and spiritual civilization in ancient China.
