Abstract

Based on the experiment of two one-second scale,one-bay,two-story steel frame models with semi-rigid connections under cyclic reversal loading, the seismic behavior of the steel frame with semi-rigid connections, including the failure pattern, occurrence order of plastic hinge, hysteretic property and energy dissipation, etc,is investigated in this paper. Some conclusions are obtained for steel frames with top-seat and two web angles connections, that is,the higher distortion occurred in the frames, and the internal force distribution of beams and columns is changed, and the ductility and seismic energy absorbing capability of the steel frames can be improved effectively.
