Abstract
The paper explores English verbal humor from the perspective of pragmatic presupposition,gives it a theoretical analysis and explanation,the theory which is based on is the observability,apprapriateness,defeasibility and subjectivity of the presupposition,this theory can analyse humor perfectly.The aim of the paper is to offer a different view for humor appreciation and creation,and to enhance the ability to appreciate verbal humor.
