Abstract

Great beauty is an original aesthetic category which is initiated by Zhuangzi.Admiring Great beauty is the prominent characteristic of the Zhuangzi's aesthetic thought.Sublime is a important category of the western aesthetics and the theory of literature and art.There are many similarities between Zhuangzi's Great beauty and sublime in many aspects,such as connotation,characteristic,aesthetic object,the realation between aesthetic subject and aesthetic object,etc.
