Rights Description and Access Control of the Electronic Document

Abstract

The speciality that digital documents are prone to being able to be copied may cause serious leaks of information content.For preventing unauthorized access,DRM technology is adopted to access control of digital documents.An XrML data model formalizes using the rights of digital documents.Permission is granted using four elements of principal,right,resource and condition,and a composing license.The rationality of digital documents using rights can be validated by a license;and the rights can be performed.Therefore,digital documents' accessing can be controlled.DRM technology guarantees that there is reasonable use of digital documents during their entire lifecycle.
