Study on Characteristics and Trend of Urbanization in Present Western Developed Countries

Since the second World War, western developed countries have entered post-industry society and their urbanization have speeded up and gradually got to mature stage. In urbanization model, they have gone through four stages: centralized urbanization, suburbanization, counter-urbanization and re-urbanization. On the view of microcosm, their urbanization has obvious decentralization trend, but on the view of macrocosm, it has brought about cities and towns centralization in wider region and formed Metropolitan areas and Megalopilis.
