Abstract

Five analogs of imidacloprid,1 (2 chloro 5 pyridyl) methyl 2 nitroiminoimidazolidine,were synthesized by replacing the pyridyl group of imidacloprid with other heterocyclic groups.The insecticidal tests of the five compounds on lipaphis erysimi were also carried out.Thus,replacement of the 2 chloropyridyl group of imidacloprid with 2 bromo 5 thienyl group resulted in 1 (2 bromo 5 thienyl) methyl 2 nitroiminoimidazolidine in 54% yield.In the insecticidal tests,it was found that the LD 50 (24 h) of lipaphis erysimi was 6 3 mg/kg.The synthesized compounds are eligible for pesticide's leadercompounds and show prospective value for their further structural optimization.
