Abstract

Larva of Scylla serrata, which is a kind of marine aquaculture species,at five different growth stages served as materials for experiment, using six kinds of vitrified solutions to treat the materials. Treatment time were 0.5 min?1.0 min?3.0 min?5.0 min and 7.0 min respectively. Afterward the final survival rates of larva were counted. The results showed: the survival rates of larva descended gradually with the treatment time for six kinds of vitrified solutions. The survival rate of Z_3-larva (the third stage larva) was higher than that of the other stages for different time and vitrified solutions. The survival rates using F vitrified solution (composition: 20%1, 2-Propanediol +20% Ethyleneglycol) was more effective than that of the other solutions.
