Research progress of the tree wilt disease caused by Verticillium

Tree wilt disease was a devastating soil borne disease caused by Verticillium spp.,and no effective control methods were found.The research progress of the trees wilt disease caused by Verticillium spp.was reviewed including the taxonomic status of pathogeny Verticillium,characters of V.dahliae and V.albo-atrum,the symptoms and the host resistance of Verticillium wilt,resistable and susceptible tree species and the monitor technique of Verticillium wilt caused by V.dahliae.The prospect of the biological control and management on Verticillium disease was summariged.
