Cultural Responsibilities of Contemporary Education

Education as the basis of culture formation and social life,has received much attention for its responsibilities that education is obliged to shoulder in the process of globalization.The paper first analyzes the reasons for the many de-standardization problems in our Socialist Harmonious Culture Construction.It then sorts out the responsibilities,namely,(i) leading the social culture along with the times tide to form a harmonious culture that plays a leading role in realizing the essence of our Socialist ideology;(ii) promoting the function of fostering the people and then they form a cultural awareness and the capability for constructing advanced culture;(iii) transforming from knowledge orientation to humanistic care and scientific culture to build up constructive intellectuals who are expected to contribute to the harmonious development between man and man,and man and nature;and(iv) forming the education culture that embodies the harmonious social ideology and the meaning of education.
