Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of treatment upside femur defects after bone tumor resection by the combinational fibular grafts with monitoring-flap by microvascular anastomosis. Methods Seven cases with bone tumor cases on upside femur after resection were reconstructed using a free vascularized fibular transfer with a monitoring-flap. According to the extent of bone defect, the extent of fibula with a monitoring-flap (3 cm ×5 cm) was 4 cm longer than the extent of bone defect. The free vascularized fibula inserted in the fu-mur marrow combined with DHS. Results All cases were followed up from 12 to 24 months. No recurrence was found. The postoperative function was well. Conclusion The therapy,that reconstruct the upside femur bone defects after bone tumor resection using a free vascularized fibular transfer with a monitoring-flap combined with DHS,is reliable method.
