Abstract
In order to get the behaviours of strength and deformation of rock in true triaxial conditions, rock strength is simulated through true triaxial experiment. The peak value of strength increases with the intermediate principal stress and the maximum of increase is 65.8%.The rock deformation is plastic characteristics with low intermediate principal stress and is transferred from plastic to brittle characteristics with high intermediate principal stress. The rock failure is depended on the deference of the principal stress(σ1-σ3),but also is good relationship with intermediate principal stress.
