Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the activity of telomerase in human epidermal stem cells which are cultured in vitro.Method:Human epidermal stem cells were isolated and cultured in vitro. Immunohistochemical assay and image analysis were used to value the expression extent of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) when cells were passaged for1, 5 and 10 times.Result: Epidermal stem cells expressed hTERT in vitro. The expression extent of hTERT some decreased with prolonging passages. Conclusion:Epidermal stem cell has high telomerase activity while was cultured in vitro while which can't prevent cell from senescence.
