Abstract
This paper introduces a construction technique for offshore oil and gas pipelines, or pipe towing method, laying barge method and horizontal directional drilling method. Classification, features and operating steps of the 3 methods are analyzed. It is pointed out that based on different construction ways for offshore pipelines, one or more pipe laying methods should be used as more effective operating methods, and the efficiency, economy and safety of pipe laying techniques must be fully taken into account in allusion to different sea states and offshore geological conditions.
