Abstract
Objective The aim of the study was to investigate the change of incidence and age distribution of cervical cancer in Guangzhou from 2000 to 2011,in order to provide scientific basis for cervical cancer prevention. Methods The data of cervical cancer incidence and population were provided by Guangzhou Cancer Registry Center and Statistics Bureau separately. The raw incidence rate by age,age-standardized incidence rates( ASR) and annual percentage change( APC) were calculated. The Join Point Regression Program was applied to detect the trend of cervical cancer incidence.Results A total of 2 300 cervical cancer patients were diagnosed. The world ASIR by year was 7. 77 per 100 000. In the12 years,the cervical cancer incidence continued to rise and the average annual percent change( APC) was 5. 86%( 95%CI: 1. 20%-10. 70%). The age of patients was located in 35-59 years old,and the incidence peak was at the age of 45-59. Conclusions The cervical cancer incidence is rising. The patients were the middle-aged and elderly people. It is necessary to carry out cervical cancer screening and treatment in the whole city,particularly for the high risk populations.
