Indicative Research on Restoration of the Forest Vegetation in Rocky Desertification-affected Karst Areas,Puding County,Guizhou Province

As a result of rocky desertification occurrence,the expansion is making the ecological environment worsen in the karsts areas of southwestern China.In order to restore the forest vegetation and improve the ecological environment,this paper puts its focus on the regional characters,nature background and current situation of rocky desertification in the Puding area.We analyzed how to choose species of tree,skills of afforestation,and experiences in forest recovery.Based on the summary,6 villages in Puding County were taken as the typical examples for forest recovery modes and species choices in the karst desertification-affected areas.The methods of forest recovery are presented as follow,preparation of soil in holes,shoots in vessels to plant,covering with other soil for melioration,graft skills,mixing with local species,etc.
