Abstract

Acral lentiginous melanoma is one type of malignant melanoma,and it is a common cause of misdiagnosis and mortality.Clinical characteristic of malignant melanoma misdiagnosed as diabetic foot ulcer was summarized to remind clinicians of misdiagnosis of malignant melanoma.The need for early biopsy of ulcer,even when clinical suspicion is low,cannot be overemphasized to reduce rate of misdiagnosis and improve survival rate in patients with foot ulcer.
