Abstract
Since the 1990s,the new synthesis technology called biomimetic synthesis which imitates the mechanism of biomineralization has emerged.Biomimetic inorganic materials are the new materials with special physical and chemical characteristics, which have been widely used in biomedicine, nanomaterials, thin films, porous materials. The high performance inorganic materials synthesized in the biomimetic ways have established the focus of biomimetic synthesis technology in the material chemistry field. This paper introduces briefly the basic theory of the biomimetic synthesis and the applying fields of biomimetic inorganic materials. After analyzing the feasibility and superiority of biomimetic inorganic materials in stone conservation,it shows that they are the new potential protecting materials.
