Influence of Three Gorge Reservoir Operation on Water Source Safety in Yangtze River Estuary

Yangtze River estuary is an important water source for Shanghai.The safety of water supply is often affected by changes in upstream water of Yangtze River.Natural salt water intrusion in dry season often results in difficulties with water supply in Shanghai.After the completion of the Three Gorges Reservoir,the storage and operation significantly change salt water intrusion in the water source area.It becomes the most important factor affecting the water source safety in Yangtze River estuary.The influence of Three Gorges Reservoir operation on water source safety in Yangtze River estuary is comprehensively analyzed.The law of salt water intrusion in Yangtze River estuary is summarized,and some suggestions for alleviating negative impact are made.
