Abstract

The effects of light quality on the growth of cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.) seedlings were studied by using three different Light Emitting Diode(LEDs)(red∶blue=8∶1,8R1B,red∶blue=6∶3,6R3B,red∶green∶:blue=6∶2∶1,6R2G1B,12 h,50 μmol·m-2·s-1).The results showed that,under the 8R1B treatment,the plant height,stem diameter,leaf area,seedling index,fresh weight of shoot and whole plant were significantly higher than those of the other two treatments.While under the 6R3B treatment,the root activity,contents of soluble protein and sugar,net photosynthesis rate of the seedling leaf were significantly higher than those of the other two treatments,with the seedlings possessing higher stomatal conductance,transpiration rate,content of chlorophyll a and ratio of chlorophyll a/b.
