Abstract

Zhoujiawan landslide which is located on the north bank of the Yangzi River is an important part of the well-known Huanglashi landslide group in Three Gorges reservoir area.The obvious deformation of the landslide began in the middle age of the 1980s,when many cracks occurred on grounds.In recent years,the deformation of the landslide is pricking up,and it is on the creep stage.The existence of Zhoujiawan landslide is a potential threat because there is a Shiliushubao landslide in the front of Zhoujiawan landslide.In this paper,the stress is laid on research of the developing mechanism of the landslide based on the analysis of the key spatial factors such as the geologic environment,pattern and structures,etc.by means of engineering geology and mechanics.The paper can be served as a reference for landslide control engineering design.
