Abstract
Objective: To observe the early effect and toxicity of S1 capsules in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer(AGC).Methods: A total of 68 patients with AGC were treated with S1 capsules 40~60 mg twice daily for 28 days.The treatment was repeated every 42 days for 3 cycles at least.Efficacy and toxicities were evaluated according to the WHO standard.Results: Of the 68 patients,there were 9 complete remission(CR),21 partial remission(PR),17 stable disease(SD) and 21 progression disease(PD).The total response rate was 44.1%.The major toxicities were anorexia,nausea,vomiting,skin pigmentation and leucopenia,etc.Conclusion: S1 capsule is effective and tolerable in the treatment of patients with AGC.
