Abstract

In this paper, the red-tide monitoring area in Tianjin coastal area was selected as the major research object.Based on the analysis of the large quantity of monitoring materials from 2003 to 2005,the assessment of eutrophication status in this area was done. The results shown that(1) the eutrophication status in this area presents a quickly deteriorative trend from the tiny eutrophication only at one station in 2003 to the serious eutrophication status in all of the areas in 2004 and 2005.The water quality is rapidly deteriorating from the second degree of the national water quality standard in 2003 to the fourth degree in 2005.(2) The serious eutrophication status is caused mainly by high DIN and DIP from the terrigenous nutrients pollutants.
