Abstract
With the rapid development of urbanization in China, urban ecological environment has been polluted severely, and natural habitats in cities have been fragmented, which threatens seriously sustainable development of urban ecosystem. Biodiversity in cities is a base of survival and development and a guarantee of sustainability of cities. Therefore, this article analyzes the values of biodiversity for urban ecosystem, furthermore, based on principles and methods of landscape ecology, discusses landscape ecological approaches to urban biodiversity conservation, especially the method for planning nature reserve.
