Ultrasonic application value of thyroid nodules calcification in the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma

Abstract

Objective:To explore the application value of the thyroid nodules calcification in the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma by ultrasonography.Methods:The clinical data of 452 cases of preoperative ultrasonic diagnosis with thyroid nodules were analyzed.Results:The calcified incidence of thyroid carcinoma(62.5%) were higher than of benign thyroid nodules(19.3%),P0.01;Microcalcification of thyroid carcinoma accounted for 70% of the total number of calcification.Microcalcification of benign nodules accounted for 38.5% of the total number of calcification,significant differences existed between the two groups,P0.01.Conclusion:The calcification of thyroid nodules plays important guiding significance in the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma by ultrasonography.Microcalcification is characteristic diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma,specially papillary thyroid carcinoma.
