Abstract
A single variable gain amplifier(VGA) is designed by using 0.5μm CMOS technology.The VGA core cell is based on Gilbert cell.An exponential voltage generator is designed to obtain a wide exponential gain variation as a function of control voltage.The range of gain variation can be controlled from-2~35dB when control voltage varies from 1.5~3.5V.The 3dB bandwidth is 19.045MHz at the maximum gain.The power consumption is 1.7mW at 5V supply voltage.
