Abstract

Object In order to understand the effect of NGF on the regeneration and to offer experimental evidences of clinical application of the peripheral nerve injury repairment. Methods Rat of sciatic nervous injury was used as experimental animal in this study. 48 adult healthy rats(200- 220g) were divided into two groups randomly,A group: NGF injection group in the peripheral nerve injury(24),B group: N. S injection group the peripheral nerve injury(24). The specimens were gained after 8 weeks. Results The results were as follow: 1. Visual observation: A group, thedefected nerves were healed smoothly andquickly,B group was found onenerve tumour, one infection. 2. Lm observation and axon computer analysis: in the A group, nerve fibers well developed and axons were inorder,no remarkable difference between axons count and nerve diameter, which were superior to B group(P 0. 05). 3. The nerve conduction velocity of A group were faster than that of B group,Latency were shorter in A group. Conclusion With continous using NGF in part of the peripheral nerve injury had enhancement effect to regeneration of peripheral nerve.
