Abstract
Airway remodeling is the tipical pathological change of asthma. Currently, it is thought that the key reason leading to the airway remodeling is the unbalance of the external cellear membrana′s degradation and deposition. The article is deliverd to discuss the relation between airway remodeling and MMP-9, as well as TIMP-1 and tissue inhibitors of Metallo proteninases that is interacted in asthma chronic airway inflammation, airway remodeling, airway obstruction and bronchial hyper reactivity. That the unbalance of their content and ratio adjusts ECM′s metabolism become the key issue of airway remodeling, which affects airway remodeling of asthma. Most of the studies consider that breathing in glucocorticoid can interfere with airway remodeling of asthma by lowering regulation of the expression of MMP-9 and increasing regulation the expression of TIMP-1.
