Abstract

It is a common concern of foreign language teachers what are the effects of students'mother tongue in Second Language Acquisition(SLA).Great achievements have been made in this regard in Psycho-Linguistic and SLA studies.The emphasis of those studies,however,has been placed on the negative transfer,and not much attention paid to the positive effects of native language.This paper is to raise the issue of positive transfer and explore the positive effects of native language based on the results of Psycho-Linguistic studies and SLA.
