The treatment of 36 cases with radial head fractures

Objective To discuss the operative techniques and effect for the radial head fractures.Methods For the thirty-six cases of the radial head fractures patients,7 fractures(type-Ⅰ) were not use the surgical treatment,and 29 fractures(type-Ⅰ～Ⅳ) had been treated with open reduction and internal fixation with mini fragment plates and screws or only use screws for the radial head fractures.Results Patients were followed up for 2～36 months.The elbow flexion-extension were 100°～145° and forearm rotation were 65°～160°.According to the Broberg-Morrey functional elbow index,the outcomes were excellent in 21 cases,good in 14 and fair in 1.Conclusions For the radial head fractures patients,most of type-Ⅰ suitable can be treated without operation,for a part of type-Ⅰand type-Ⅱ～Ⅳ,the operative reduction and internal fixation with mini fragment plates and screws may get satisfying outcomes.
