Abstract
Least air concentration to prevent cavitation erosion is experimentally investigated by using non-circulating water tunnel.Three mixing proportions of concrete specimens are used for cavitation erosion with and without aeration.Relation between least air concentration to prevent cavitation erosion and flow velocity is developed.Flow regimes in cavitation region with different air concentrations are observed in detail.Time-averaged pressures with and without aeration in cavitation erosion region are compared, the variations of cavitation noises with different air concentration is also systematically observed.
