Kierkegaard' s Concept of Christian Belief and Lu Xun' s Criticism of Civil Belief

The decline of the traditional belief in Christianity is a big spiritual matter which has great influence on Western modernity. Nietzsche commentated on this as God is dead. Kierkegaard painfully pointed out that If we had any belief in this age, it would be as any other times . In China, which was then included in the modern world, Lu Xun keenly observed that Buddhism has died just like Confucianism. During his early studies in Japan, Lu Xun made his spiritual rendezvous with Nietzsche and Kierkegaard in that they all shared the same standpoint that loss of belief was what they thought about in their criticism of society and civilization.
