Abstract
In the eastern part of the junggar basin jurassic coal bearing strata mainly Badaowan and Xishanyao formation as the research object, through a large number of drilling core observation, combined with previous research, analysis of coal bearing strata lithologic features and characteristics of lithofacies paleogeography, the mid-Badaowan formation was the maximum flooding period, and the late Badaowan and Xishanyao formation as the most important coal-forming period, identify the deep lake,semi-deep lake-shallow lake, braided river delta, meandering river delta, braided river, meandering rivers, swamps and fan delta sedimentary environments, the braided river delta and meandering river delta is the most favourable coal forming environments.
