Abstract

Experiments were conducted to determine the different resistance of rice to butachlor and acetochlor. Growth inhibition caused by acetochlor at concentration 0.18 μmol/L is almost as the same as that caused by butachlor at concentration of 8.8 μmol/L in germinating and seedling period. There was a significant reduction in the activity of GA 3-induced α-amylase by acetochlor and the reduction caused by butachlor showed no significant change. Results of present research indicated no apparent relationship between GSH content and herbicide tolerance. GST activity was induced by butachlor and about 7 fold higher than that of control after 24h treatment, and no apparent change in GST activity after treatment by acetochlor was observed.
