Building or Destroying Frontier Wall and the Miao Society During the Ming and Qing Period

Building the Frontier Wall in Miao Territory was one of the steps that central government took to defend and rule the Miao people during the Ming and Qing imperial invasion of Southwest China. On the study of a process that Frontier Wall was built or destroyed in different periods, the paper corrects some of the past misunderstandings about the matter, and argues some important aspects of the social change, reflected from the building or destroying of the Frontier Wall under different social backgrounds that took place in Miao Territory during hundreds of years of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
