MEBO treatment of bedsore of patients with neurosurgical diseases and nursing care

Objective:To explore the efficacy of MEBO for treating patients with neurosurgical disease complicated by bedsore and the effect of nursing care.Method:During the period from May 2003 through June 2006,25 patients hospi- talized in the Neurosurgical Department were complicated by bedsore.They were treated locally with MEBO in addition to conventional treatment (MEBO Group).At the same period,20 patients complicated by bedsore were treated with conven- tional treatment alone (control group).A comparison of the efficacy of the 2 groups was made.Result:30 days curative rate in MEBO group was 92.0% and in control group 40.0%.Conclusion:MEBO is efficacious in treating bedsore of patients with neurosurgical disease.The treating course can be shortened.
