Abstract
The next generation mobile communication network is an all - IP, integrated and exoteric network. It can provide various services such as voice, data and multimedia. This paper discusses the development of all - IP communication network and analyses the characteristics of mobile multimedia service. An IP - based real - time multimedia service network model is constructed and the performance simulation is made. Simulation results show that the available cell area of the mobile multimedia network is much smaller than that of the current mobile communication network. Thus, effective network hierarchical structure, such as micro - cell,is needed. What is more, suitable bandwidth, buffer and data rate are help to guarantee the quality and continuity of the mobile multimedia service.
