Abstract

In order to provide a reference for detecting and controlling A. squamipes, the authors analyzed the population ecological material which was monitored systematically in Dafang County,Guizhou Province from 1995 to 2012. The results showed that A. squamipes distributed in residential area, paddy field and dry farmland, accounting for 6. 68 % of the total quantity. It was one of common rodent kinds in local. Then, there was significant difference in population quantity between different years, different months and different seasons. The annual average capture rate was 0. 25 %. Two population quantity peaks appeared in March to April and September to October when the average capture rates were 0. 23 %- 0. 24 % and 0. 49 %- 0. 54 %,respectively. The latter was significantly higher than the former. The sex ratio was 1. 46,the reproduction period was March to October, the average pregnancy rate was 24. 26 %,the average litter size was 5. 06,the average testicular descent rate was 41. 94 %,and the average reproductive index was 0. 73. Furthermore, there was significant difference in population reproduction characteristic between different months and different seasons. The reproductive peaks appeared in April to May and September to October when the pregnancy rates were 30. 77 %- 33. 33 % and 29. 17 %- 57. 14 %,respectively. The peaks presented a typical bimodal curve. Moreover, the seasonal fluctuation law of testicular descent rate and reproductive index was consistent with the seasonal fluctuation law of pregnancy rate, presenting a synchronous fluctuation trend. Spring and autumn were the main reproductive season of A.squamipes. March and August was the best period for control.
