Clinical Practice of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Substituting Axillary Lymph Node Dissection in Early Breast Cancer Treatment

Objective:To study the significance of sentinel node biopsy substituting axillary lymph node dissection in early breast cancer treatment. Methods:Using 1% methylthioninium chloride solution to perform sentinel node biopsy on 15 cases early(T1-2N0M0)breast cancer.The axillary lymph node dissection will not be performed when the biopsy result is negative. Results:In the follow-up examination after 1-3 years,none of the 15 cases suffers from sick side upper limb swelling,numbness or movement disorder.Local recurrence or swelling axillary lymph node is not found in any of the cases. Conclusions:Sentinel lymph node biopsy can be used to substitute axillary lymph node dissection in early breast cancer treatment.
