Abstract

The inland waters should be divided into two categories. One is that the surface water has nothing to do with the Yellow River and its tributaries, but the ground water relates to the Yellow River. Another is that both surface water and ground water all have nothing to do with the Yellow River and its tributaries. It suggests naming the first category as inland surface waters and the second as an enclosed basin. The inland waters of the Yellow River basin belongs to the first category and should be delimited into the Yellow River basin. At present, the overexploitation of ground water has severely effected the surface water resources. Therefore, it should strengthen the study on ground water resources.
